Knowledgeshift Releases Two New, Interactive Mobile Phone Applications
KnowledgeShift, a corporate learning technology firm, has created two, new interactive mobile applications utilizing Interactive Voice Recognition (IVR) technology from Ifbyphone.

WHEATON, IL, January 04, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The first application, Mobi-Role-Play, allows an employee to interact with a simulated character using a combination of hand-held content from a BlackBerry or cell phone and interactive voice conversations they access via their cell phone. This application gives an employee the opportunity to practice their interactions with characters that resemble actual customers the employee will encounter on the job. Sales prospecting and customer service areas are natural targets for this technology, as complex issues like objection handling can be built into the simulation. The full conversations are recorded and provided to the user or their manager as an MP3 file for review and coaching.

"Several of our clients have volunteered to beta test this application," said Nancy Munro, CEO of KnowledgeShift. "Companies are finding it harder to pull employees together to conduct the traditional role-play exercises that really allow them to practice how to talk to customers or prospective customers. It's so critical to put yourself in a simulation that will accelerate your skills in order to maximize the precious time you have when you are in front of your customers. Using these short mobi-role-play simulations allows employees to practice this just about anywhere."

Ifbyphone's VP of Marketing, Todd Curry, said: "We were very impressed with KnowledgeShift's application of our interactive voice response (IVR) technology. KnowledgeShift harnessed the flexibility and power of our Developer API Toolkit to create two truly novel applications."

The second application, Mobi-Ad-Lib is targeted to a younger, consumer audience, allowing users to build a mini story using a combination of pre-recorded messages and interactive menus. Users can add their own commentary to various conversations they may have with pre-recorded characters such as sports characters, pop stars or popular individuals.

"Imagine being interviewed by a simulated pop star where you can record your voice talking to them," said Munro. "It's similar to the Mad-Libs that kids play on paper but you can fill in the blank - so to speak - with your own voice in our pre-recorded templates. Then take your fully merged file and send it to your friends or post into social networking sites."
